7 Best Fashion Films

There are so so so many movies out there and so many have plots revolving around fashion.

Here are my personal favorites:

The Devil Wears Prada

Screen Shot 2016-05-06 at 9.11.34 PM

An amazing movie about the unfashionable, new assistant to editor in chief to a major fashion magazine. A must see for anyone looking for a rom-com with a fashion plot.

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Screen Shot 2016-05-06 at 9.12.28 PM

As you can tell by the title of the movie, it’s about a shopaholic who goes looking for a new job at a major fashion magazine but is turned down. Her ups and downs of saving money, working and of course romance.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Screen Shot 2016-05-06 at 9.14.04 PM

A classic starring Audrey Hepburn and all of her iconic outfit (especially the infamous LBD).

The September Issue

Screen Shot 2016-05-06 at 9.14.52 PM

How could you not include this? The documentary about the process of making Vogue’s most coveted magazine issue of the year: the September issue.

Dior and I

Screen Shot 2016-05-06 at 9.12.52 PM

Another documentary, this time of life inside a fashion house (or in french, “maison”) not a magazine. Dior and I follows Raf Simmons and the head designers through the making of his first fashion show since being named Creative Director of Dior. Very insightful if you want to see the behind the scenes work of the making of a fashion show or if you want to one day work for a fashion house.

Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s

This film, showcases Bergdorf Goodman’s history in New York and many big name designers featured in the department store.

The First Monday in May

This documentary features the spectacular Met Gala held yearly on the first Monday of May to debut the new fashion exhibit to the fashion industry’s A-listers.
